Murder Mile Walks
THE ALTERNATIVE "JACK THE RIPPER" EXPERIENCE
"...one of the best quirky, curious & unusual things to do in London"
You can't move in Whitechapel for "Jack the Ripper Walks", who blight the red-brick passages of Brick Lane, throttle the lifeblood of Liverpool Street and strangle all the love, fun and culture out of Aldgate.
They all claim to be "London's Best Jack the Ripper" Tour, dealing in nothing but "facts", "evidence" and only on their tour will you "learn the true identity of East London's most notorious serial killer ever - Jack the Ripper". So which murder walk do you pick?
Well... none of them. Why?
Don't get me wrong, as a piece of theatre, they are all a wonderfully entertaining way to waste an hour or two. But why waste your time, energy and money being dragged around dingy parts of East London, fighting for space with twenty other murder walks, as an unconvincing actor in a pound-store cape trots outs the same tired old story, for which there is no evidence, no locations, no prime suspect, no conclusion, and - worse still - a lot of unsubstantiated waffle which you could just as easily read in any of the hundreds of books on Jack the Ripper, in the warm, at your leisure... with a nice cup of tea?
Where-as... if you're looking "An Alternative Ripper Experience"? Then Murder Mile Walks is just for you.
But there was in the West End.
During the Blitz of World War Two, a maniac prowled the streets of London's West End, hell-bent on a murderous killing spree, during which he butchered four women and attempted to kill two others... in just six days. The Press called him "The Blackout Ripper". So shocking, so brutal, so horrific were his attacks, that - in order to preserve the morale of the people - that his murders were deliberately covered up by the British Government and the Press, making him Soho's forgotten serial killer.
Murder Mile Walks is the only tour to have researched, investigated and presented the case of "The Blackout Ripper", as well as other serial killers such as "The Soho Strangler" (Soho's very own Jack the Ripper) and Dennis Nilsen (Britain's most notorious serial killer, who worked and preyed on his victims in Soho).
Murder Mile Walks is the only "Alternative to the Jack the Ripper Experience".
